Omarchy: Arch already chosen, and an agent on the machine
Omarchy is Arch with the choices already made, including Hyprland. At first boot it offers an agent to sign into. A crash can be handed to it. No system privacy policy was read.
Before you get started
What to expect
Omarchy fits if you want the choices made for you, and if an agent on the computer is the point. It is not a quiet desktop by default: the agent is in the product.
Who it is for
Omarchy fits if you want a Linux already set, keyboard first, without spending the install comparing desktops. It fits poorly if you want to choose every piece, or keep an agent off the machine.
What you gain
The site presents version 4.0.4, an install from a USB stick, five questions, and a desktop it calls ready. The named base is Arch, with Hyprland. You can change things afterwards. The stated time, under a minute on fast machines, is their figure.
What you take on
You take on the project’s choices, signed DHH, and Arch’s pace. A choice already made may not be yours. Changing it is possible, the site says so, but that is no longer the short install.
Privacy
At first boot, Omarchy invites you to pick an agent and sign in. On a crash, a notification can hand it the diagnosis, including the dump. The site does not say that dump stays on the machine.
Where it goes depends on the agent’s provider, not on an Omarchy policy read here. No system privacy page was among the pages opened. Treat the agent as access to the computer, not as a theme.
The decision
Choose Omarchy if the agent and the choices already made are the product you want. Refuse the agent on the first screen if that flow does not suit you. For an Arch without that invitation, EndeavourOS or Arch itself ask a different question.
